Sarah Hurley Book Club – The Foster Child

This weeks book club pick is psychological thriller The Foster Child by Jenny Blackhurst.

I first picked this up as the plot reminded me of a film I’d seen with Renee Zellweger on Netflix that I’d liked – similar to that, this follows a child psychologist who gets too involved and bonds with one of her patients, Ellie, a little girl with a tragic past. As this unravels, scary things start to happen whenever Ellie gets upset…

This was genuinely chilling and left me properly creeped out! Lets face it there’s nothing scarier than little girl ghosts / zombies / baddies and this captures that creepiness perfectly. You’ll be left VERY unsettled…

If you pick this one up, I’d love to know what you thought…
