Sarah Hurley Book Club – My favourite Children’s Books

This week I’ve been organising things around the house, including my bookshelves. I love re-reading some of my old faves including some amazing children’s books that I need to share with you…

The Ship That Flew by Hilda Lewis
Consistently one of my favourites, This story of a magic ship and the adventures of the children who own it is so well written and will draw you in from the start. I love to re-read this and I can’t believe it wasn’t more popular! This book has a bit of everything, magic, history, adventure, fun – it’s a must read!

Danny The Champion of The World by Roald Dahl
Who doesn’t love Road Dahl? and this is definitely my favourite out of all his books, I’m hoping someday soon there will be a big movie version of this, it’s a fantastic read about a boy and his dad and their nighttime adventures.

First Term at Trebizon by Anne Digby
A completely retro boarding school read that got me stuck into this series of books – my only complaint is that I wish there were more of them!

If you decide to give any of these a go, I’d love to know what you thought.
