I was hooked on this book from the very start. The fact that this is written by two people is evident in the way the two voices are so different – rarely have I read multiple points of view written so well and so distinctly as they are in the book.
The first half of the book is written from the point of view of Amber as she schemes and plans to land her dream man, Daphne’s husband Jackson, and the dream life she feels she rightly deserves. She’s tired of being a nobody, being overlooked and feels resentful that Daphne’s life is so ‘easy’ in comparison, therefore has no shame in trying to steal it for herself. Amber becomes Daphne’s closest friend and worms her way into their lives.
The second half of the book switches to Daphne’s post of view, telling the inside story of her marriage and her deepening friendship with Amber.
Even if you guess some of this book, it’s so full of twists and turns that there will definitely be some surprises for you!
