Keep you Close – Sarah Hurley Book Club

Keep you Close Lucie Wjitehouse Sarah Hurley Book Club Pick

This months book was the psychological thriller Keep You Close by Lucie Whitehouse. As I mentioned in my previous update, after being initially completely gripped by the excellent prologue, I started to lose interest slightly as the book slowed down to lay out the backstory and characters. I have to say, now, at the end, I’m glad I persevered!

When I last updated, I had just been drawn back in to this atmospheric thriller. If you are a fan of psychological thrillers and maybe prefer a more literary style of writing, then this is the book for you! I was totally caught off guard by the first twist in this book (no spoilers!) and as it worked it way towards the end I found I couldn’t put it down. The end was another twist and not what I was expecting (I normally manage to work these out well before the end!) – always the mark of a good book!

In complete honesty, this is probably not fast paced enough for me but the beginning and end were excellent and I can’t deny Lucie is an excellent writer, the book is SO well written that it drew me in anyway.

Thank you for reading along with us! Let us know if you’ve read Keep You Close or any of Lucie’s other books that you’d recommend, we would love to know your thoughts. Get in touch via Twitter or Facebook or just drop us a comment below.
