15th Affair: Book Club Finish

White cover magazine and blank screen phone, flat lay tabletop

We’ve officially finished our March book club read, 15th Affair by James Patterson and Maxine Paetro, so let us tell you exactly what we thought of the thriller.

**SPOILER ALERT**

Chloe

OMG! I have literally loved this book from start to finish. Never was there a dull moment where I was counting down the words until the end of the chapter. I have not been able to put this book down and have thoroughly enjoyed reading it.

Lindsay was the perfect character to tell this story, she’s strong, brave and has a whole load of courage. She went through some seriously tough times throughout the book like the disappearance of her husband, being beaten up, being shot at, all whilst trying to solve a quadruple homicide and be a single parent. There were some serious O.M.G. moments throughout the book particularly as we discovered Lindsay’s husband Joe was in fact a CIA agent. I did like the twist at the end, the shocking revelation that The Four Seasons’ security guard Liam Dugan was actually double agent, Alison Muller’s accomplice, but somehow I was expecting a little more.

None the less I still enjoyed this book and am seriously gutted I’ve missed all the other instalments in the series. It is wonderfully written with a number of underlying sub-plots, sometimes sub-plots can cause confusion for readers, but Patterson and Paetro told the story consistently and portrayed all of the characters perfectly, ensuring the story was easy to follow. Such a good read!

It’s safe to say I will definitely be reading the new one from James Patterson and Maxine Paetro called, 16th Seduction.

Now we’re at the end, I can admit, I binge read the book in a weekend so when I wrote my halfway post I’d already finished (soz! lol) I really enjoyed this book, it’s definitely been one of my favourite book club picks, and I literally couldn’t put it down.

I agree with Chloe that the ending felt a tiny bit flat but I totally understand why this was the case as the writer has to finish the story and leave no plot holes so the book is self contained but still leave us wanting more so we read the next one so there is no way to leave us on an exciting cliffhanger. In fact I quite like this as there is nothing worse than having to wait ages to find out what happens!! The ending was well written and I’m really looking forward to reading the next one before going back to the beginning and starting from book one! I know that this book will stick in my mind and will definitely be one that I  recommend to people to grab a copy of!

I’m still unsure!!! but I don’t think so, I think he just lied and hid things from her (still not OK! ha!). I’m definitely following up with the new one, hopefully it will clear up those last few loose ends! Sarah
