WHAT’S ON THE BOX?! WITH SARAH

This week I have some of my current Netflix faves for you! Here’s what I’ve been loving this week:

Black Mirror – One of my friends encouraged me to start watching this, I wasn’t sure it was my kind of thing but it’s actually a really thought provoking and interesting series! I’ve watched about 4 or 5 of these now in the latest series, I particularly enjoyed the first one, a take on how we all ‘like’ each other and rate each other now on social media and how that could end up if it went too far. the second one, about gaming, made my head spin, it was a little bit disturbing but I think only because I’m a gaming fan myself – I had to watch some comedy after that one for a while!! Definitely give this one a whirl. They are all self contained mini dramas so you can just dip into the ones you find most appealing which is great too (though my OCD only lets me watch them in order, of course)

RuPaul’s Drag Race – I started watching this on a whim and L-O-V-E-D it! This is my new TV obsession. Like a play on the ‘Next Top Model’ franchise (RuPaul even has Tyra’s dramatic elimination style perfected, amaze!), this sees a line up of Drag Queens put through their paces in order to be voted the next Drag Superstar. From making outfits out of curtains to photoshoots and burlesque performances, the challenges either make or break them. I’m still amazed at the guy who decided to have a nap in the middle of a challenge – it was supposed to be his dream and he couldn’t handle the pace to go for it and give it his all, incredible! It’s fun, funny, challenging and dramatic – I’m hooked!

my film choice this this week is The Book of Life, I’m so glad this is now on Netflix! I first watched this film last year on a flight and I was enchanted by it, not only is the story magical but every single frame is just stunning. Knowing a bit more about animation now as I’ve been working on my own project I realise the absolutely incredible amount of work this must have taken and it SO paid off. One of the most visually gorgeous films you’ll ever watch!

I’d love to know your fave Netflix picks, leave me a note in the comments and if you watch any of these, let me know what you think!
