As I’ve had access to a LOT of colouring books over the last 12 months – I think I may have been the first person to demonstrate adult colouring on live TV! – so I’m asked a lot for my opinion on them, so today I’m sharing with you my two current favourites and giving you a little peek inside my own personal copies (side note – these are my own personal copies, not seen on TV, not sent to me to look at, that I bought with my own money)
Unsurprisingly, the favourites are the Johanna Basford books, Secret Garden & Enchanted Forest. If you really pushed me I’d probably admit that Enchanted Forest was my favourite, it has a more magical feel, more imaginative qualities and has a less summery feel that Secret Garden, all of that appeals to me more and I’m more likely to pick that one up.
Inside Secret Garden there are lots of leafy images, very nature inspired, beautiful artwork, here is an in progress shot…
This is using Brunyezel Pencils and Stabilo Fineliner pens.
Inside Enchanted Forest I’m using darker colours, and so far all pens, this is the Stabilo Pens again (they come in a cute box I keep next to my bed!
and then the Sakura Glitter Pens using my fave glitter blending technique (as seen on TV!) and the gold shadow pens are great on bugs! I’ve used it a bit here on the dragonfly but the camera hasn’t really captured how great it looks and made it a flatter brown – in real life it’s very metallic and looks like a real bug body! (bleurgh! lol)
Thank you for dropping by today and sharing a peek inside my colouring book, I’d love to know your favourite colouring books – leave me a note in the comments so I can check them out!

Great fun colouring, Interesting glitter blending, not really coloured with glitter before. My faves are Millie Marotta Animal Kingdom, and Harry Potter book, not done anything in that one yet!! need some more colours.
